Mid-Year Reset: Why I Keep My Goals in Front of Me
It’s easy to start the year with good intentions.
But staying focused? That takes intention and discipline.
Over the years, I’ve found that the key to staying on track isn’t setting more or bigger goals. It’s keeping them in front of me.
Most mornings, I revisit my priorities.
They’re not just to-do’s. They’re grounded in what matters most to me:
These are my non-negotiables, the guiding principles that shape how I live, lead, and interact with others. Values like freedom, family, fun, leadership, wisdom, and generosity give meaning to the goals I set. When my actions reflect these values, I feel aligned and fulfilled, not just productive.
My purpose
Purpose is my why. It’s what gets me up in the morning and keeps me going when motivation runs low. My purpose isn’t tied to a single job or project, it’s tied to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others, especially by helping people grow through their strengths, clarity, and self-awareness. When goals align with purpose, they fuel long-term resilience, not short bursts of effort.
My long-term vision
This is where I’m heading, the legacy I want to leave. It’s not about rushing to a finish line; it’s about taking intentional steps that build toward the future I believe in. My long-term vision helps me say no to distractions and yes to opportunities that move the needle on what truly matters.
Some days I get pulled in different directions, just like everyone else. But regularly reviewing my goals brings me back. It reminds me what I’m building, and why I started in the first place.
Here’s what I’ve learnt:
· When your goals are visible, your progress becomes intentional.
· When your daily actions reflect your deeper purpose, you build resilience, even when things go off track.
This mid-year moment isn’t just a checkpoint, it’s a chance to refocus, redefine, and reset.
3 Questions I Ask in My Mid-Year Review:
What’s working and why?
What’s become noise instead of necessity?
What needs adapting, not abandoning?
Goals are living things. Sometimes we don’t need to quit, we just need to pivot.
"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending."— C.S. Lewis
Different seasons invite us to pause, reflect, and adjust, not because we got it wrong, but because we’re growing.
Mid-year is more than a checkpoint, it’s a permission slip to be honest with yourself, to honour where you are, and to take bold steps toward where you want to be.
You don’t need to overhaul everything. You just need to realign with what matters most and keep showing up.
Your goals aren’t about perfection. They’re about purpose and your progress is still being written.
Reach Out, and let's take time to discover how we can progress together.
Remember daily to, 'Find value in your influence.' Your voice matters, and I'm excited to hear from and work with you!"
