Resilience Starts with Strengths
How Working from Your Strengths Fuels Growth, Energy, and Inner Grit
For some years, I searched for the “right” formula to make a lasting impact. I adapted to what others expected of me, shaped myself to fit roles, and tried to offer value based on what I thought others needed. But deep down, I knew something wasn’t aligned.
Everything shifted when I discovered my CliftonStrengths.
Suddenly, I had language for who I was at my best—not just a set of skills, but a deep understanding of how I’m wired to think, feel, and behave. That awareness changed everything.
Working from Strengths Is Energising, Impacting, and Fulfilling
When I’m operating from my Strengths, I feel it.
I’m clear.
I’m confident.
I’m making a difference.
It’s not just productivity—it’s purpose in motion.
When I lead with my natural talents, my tank feels full. I show up more present, more creative, more effective. This is the space where I thrive.
But there’s a tension I’ve learned to navigate.
Strengths Alone Aren’t Enough
Even your greatest Strengths lose their impact if your foundations are shaky.
Over the years, I’ve noticed that when I neglect my physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental health, I start to fall apart—even when I’m operating from my Strengths. I become reactive, exhausted, and less effective. In short, I become my own worst enemy.
It’s taken intentional effort to build habits around:
Regular exercise
Eating well
Practicing stillness and meditation
Praying
Learning and reflecting
These practices undergird my Strengths. They fuel my resilience. They help me reset when things get tough, and they keep me grounded when life speeds up.
Resilience Is Built Daily
Resilience isn’t just the ability to bounce back. It’s the capacity to continue forward—with energy, focus, and direction—even in the face of resistance.
And the key to that resilience?
Start with what’s already strong in you.
Then reinforce it with rhythms that support your full wellbeing.
