The More You Give, the More You Grow
At the start of this year, I made a simple but powerful decision:
I would say yes to more things that aligned with my purpose and values.
That one choice changed everything.
Since then, I’ve spent more intentional time with family and friends. My work has expanded into new spaces. Opportunities to help others have increased. And interestingly, the more I’ve given of myself, my time, my energy, my attention, the more fuelled I’ve felt.
At first, I worried that saying “yes” would drain me. I thought that giving more might leave me with less. But instead, I discovered something unexpected:
Generosity doesn’t deplete, it multiplies.
Generosity is one of the most misunderstood values.
It’s often thought of as giving money or material things but at its core, generosity is a posture of the heart.
It’s about being open to share your time, your encouragement, your experience, your gratitude.
It’s the willingness to show up for others without expecting anything in return.
When you live generously, you tap into a deeper rhythm of life, one that says:
“I have enough to give because I’m already enough.”
That’s the essence of generosity. It transforms our relationships, our leadership, and our communities. It shifts our focus from scarcity (“what if I don’t have enough?”) to abundance (“look how much I’ve already been given”).
Generosity isn’t about giving to impress. It’s about giving to impact.
When your generosity flows from your values, from kindness, connection, and purpose it doesn’t just change others. It changes you.
3 Helpful Learnings About Generosity
Generosity expands your capacity.
When you give time, kindness, or energy to others, you stretch your capacity to care and connect. What you pour out often returns in ways you don’t expect.
Generosity deepens gratitude.
The more you give, the more you notice. Giving draws your attention to the good already around you, and that awareness feeds a grateful spirit.
Generosity creates momentum for growth.
When giving comes from purpose, not obligation, it energises rather than drains you. It builds confidence, joy, and an authentic sense of fulfilment.
Generosity is one of the purest expressions of leadership.
It turns everyday moments into opportunities to serve, and small actions into legacies that last.
So, give more freely.
Say yes to what aligns with your purpose.
Watch how your world and the worlds of others grow because of it.
